Violet and Vasquez Kiss on Chicago Fire After Carver's Return
On Season 14 of Chicago Fire, Paramedic in Charge Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) and new Firehouse 51 arrival Sal Vasquez (Brandon Larracuente) sealed their growing chemistry with a kiss. Violet and Vasquez have been playing a cat-and-mouse game this season. Violet initially held back her feelings because she thought fellow paramedic Lizzy Novak (Jocelyn Hudon) had a crush on Vasquez, but Novak later struck up a connection with Chicago Med's Dr.
John Frost (Darren Barnet). Their budding relationship was spotlighted when Violet's on-again, off-again lover Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) returned to Firehouse 51, noticed the chemistry, and grew jealous after learning about Violet's new paramedic training program that used Vasquez as its first experiment.
Tensions flared at Molly's after Carver cornered Vasquez to warn him about Violet. Later, after drinks, Vasquez showed off his "frostbite blue" sports car. Violet said, "Honestly, I'm in kind of a bad headspace right now," and Vasquez pressed, recalling he was "replacing one hell of a driver" — then told her, "Well, just so you know, I'm not Carver, OK?
I am nothing like him." Caught off guard, Violet kissed him; the kiss was returned and they pulled away together. The scene ended with Violet telling Vasquez she'd love to take the ride home, cementing the new connection between the two characters.
