Warlock is Diablo 2's first new class in 25 years

Blizzard has released Reign of the Warlock, a free update for Diablo 2 Resurrected that adds the Warlock — the first new Diablo 2 class in more than 25 years. The class was unveiled during Blizzard’s Diablo 30th birthday stream and is playable right now. Blizzard also framed the reveal as part of broader Diablo updates, noting it as the third new Diablo 4 class since Diablo 4's 2023 launch and, the writer observed, the fifth new Diablo Immortal class.

The Warlock can summon three demon types — the Goatman, the Tainted and the Defiler — which fight alongside the player with their own abilities. Its defining mechanic lets you bind a single demon at a time and choose when to devour it for temporary buffs: "Do you keep that demon around for its abilities?
