Warwick Davis says Harry Potter reboot will closely follow the books
Collider reports Warwick Davis, a returning cast member from the original films, says the upcoming Harry Potter reboot series will be a "faithful adaptation" of J.K. Rowling's original work as it is retold for television.
Davis, who played Professor Flitwick and the goblin Griphook and returns as Flitwick, told Radio Times, "I’m working on it at the moment, but I can’t really tell you anything other than we’re retelling those wonderful stories but with more depth and detail than has been seen before. They’re very faithful adaptations of the book." He added, "There are similar moments that we’re experiencing as actors on the set. But it’s weird being back in the same studios again, doing it all again, because Leavesden is where we shot the films." Behind-the-scenes images have also shown new characters and events intended to keep the series fresh.
Production on the first season began in 2025 and is expected to continue "all the way through this year," with filming for Season 2 planned after a short break so the child actors remain the right age. Season 1's adaptation of The Philosopher’s Stone is not expected to reach screens until early 2027, and the plan is for an annual filming and release cycle.
