We're 10 Months Away From 'Avengers: Doomsday' — So Where's the Hype?
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is at a turning point as it heads into 2026. With recent releases delivering mediocre results and underwhelming box office returns, Avengers: Doomsday, due in December, carries added significance as Marvel looks for a return to form.
The challenge is the lack of sustained buildup. Four teasers shown during screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash have not set the world alight, and the pivot away from Jonathan Majors’ Kang storyline disrupted any long-term lead-up that might have laid groundwork for a franchise-defining showdown.
Only a few MCU projects remain before December — the TV shows Wonder Man and Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, plus the film Spider-Man: Brand New Day — and none offers a clear, strong connection to Doomsday. Brand New Day is billed as a story focused more on Peter Parker than a multiversal confrontation, so these releases are unlikely to generate the same narrative momentum earlier sagas enjoyed.
