A week with the KTC 25-inch Android display: surprisingly useful — Latest news

KTC's 25-inch Android display, priced at $349, delivers a large, well-built touchscreen that works in kitchens, offices or kids' rooms. It isn't the most powerful tablet available, but its size and versatile built-in stand — usable vertically or horizontally — make it useful for several scenarios.

Out of the box the battery was empty and needed charging to at least 20% for setup; a passkey was created with a Pixel 9 Pro. Installing the lightweight Olancher launcher improved responsiveness. Apps such as YouTube, Gmail, Chrome and Keep Notes ran smoothly, and the larger screen made tasks like managing shopping lists easier.

I skipped most games because the display is too large to hold, but Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition ran smoothly and felt more immersive; for extended typing, a Bluetooth keyboard is recommended. The built-in camera is basic but adequate for Zoom and other video chats; it struggles in low light, so additional lighting helps.
