Where to watch Catherine O’Hara’s best performances
Catherine O’Hara, the Canadian actor known for roles from Moira Rose on Schitt’s Creek to Delia Deetz in Beetlejuice, died on Friday at age 71, the New York Times reported on Jan. 30, 2026. The Times compiled a roundup of some of her most memorable film and television performances and where to stream or rent them.
O’Hara first rose to prominence on the 1976–84 Canadian sketch show SCTV, where she did impressions and created characters such as the showgirl Lola Heatherton. The Times notes that before Hollywood came calling she built a reputation for transformations and comic inventiveness. One of her early screen appearances was in Martin Scorsese’s After Hours; the piece recounts a moment when Scorsese, an early fan, gave her his number and describes her late appearance in the film as a creature of mischief.
After Hours is available to rent or buy on Amazon, Apple TV and Fandango at Home, and SCTV sketches can be streamed on YouTube. O’Hara’s film work included Beetlejuice and the 2024 sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, in which she played the self-assured artist Delia Deetz. The Times describes Delia as both out of place and convinced of her genius, and says O’Hara brings sly movement to the sequel as the character grapples with grief.
Beetlejuice can be rented or bought on Amazon, Apple TV and Fandango at Home; Beetlejuice Beetlejuice streams on HBO Max.
