Where Was Sal Vasquez on Chicago Fire This Week? (February 4, 2026)
A report from Nbc says Season 14 newcomer Sal Vasquez was missing from Firehouse 51 in the February 4 episode. Chief Dom Pascal told firefighters at the morning meeting that City Hall shake-ups had led to personnel being shuffled, and Vasquez had been pulled away by a temporary CFD assignment.
Vasquez settled at Firehouse 51 earlier this season and has kept his cards close due to an unconventional path to the CFD: he originally trained as a cop until his father’s imprisonment led him to pursue firefighting. With his father now out of prison, Vasquez has been getting comfortable at the post and making friends.
Late in the episode he sent a text to paramedic Violet Mikami saying he missed Firehouse 51, and Violet was eager to reunite when he returns. Vasquez has been involved in a budding romance with Violet that was complicated by Lizzy Novak’s work crush; Violet and Vasquez shared a kiss and spent a night together, and Violet withheld that information from Novak.
