Which Country Has Won the Most Medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics
With the Closing Ceremony approaching, only a handful of medals remain at the Milan Cortina Games. More than 3,000 athletes from 93 countries have competed in Italy, vying for a limited pool of 195 medals. As of February 19, Norway leads the medal table with 34 (16 gold, 8 silver, 10 bronze).
Ten of those medals came in Cross-Country Skiing and nine in Biathlon; 31 of Norway’s 34 medals were earned in some form of skiing, with the other three in Speed Skating. Italy is second with 26 (9 gold, 5 silver, 12 bronze), largely from Alpine Skiing, Luge and Speed Skating.
The United States sits third with 25 (7 gold, 12 silver, 6 bronze), leading all countries in silver medals and winning most of its events in Freestyle Skiing. Japan (22) and Germany (21) round out the top five. These Games have produced notable firsts and dramatic comebacks.
