Who is Christian Lee Hutson? Meet Maya Hawke's husband

Hutson is a singer-songwriter and the musical partner and husband of Maya Hawke. The pair were friends and collaborators long before their relationship became public in 2023. They married on Valentine’s Day 2026 at St George’s Episcopal Church in New York City, with Hawke’s parents and her Stranger Things co-stars in attendance.

He was born in Kansas City, Miss., and moved to California at age 5 when his mother remarried. The family settled in Santa Monica, where he attended a fundamentalist Christian elementary school. Guitar lessons at 12 sparked an obsession with the instrument that led him to drop out of school three years later.

Hutson began his music career with the Driftwood Singers between 2010 and 2013 and has released five solo albums. Three of those records—Beginners, Quitters and Paradise Pop—were co-produced by Phoebe Bridgers; he also opened for Bridgers on tour in 2022 and 2023.
