Will Trent Season 4 suggests Will and Angie should stay apart — Collider

Season 4 of Will Trent centers on adjusting to change. Will has been struggling to adapt to having a family, watching Angie build her own family, and processing the comparisons James Ulster made before his death. Amanda and Ormewood are dealing with lingering effects of health scares, Faith faces a heartbreak, and Angie is about to become a mother.

From the start the show has suggested the very thing that draws Will and Angie together also prevents them from lasting. In Season 1 Will pushed Angie to open up about her trauma to a witness; in Season 2 reconnecting with his uncle Antonio led him to regress around her.

This season, while helping Angie write her vows, Will dredges up the worst moments of her addiction. After a single season apart she met someone else, started a family and proved herself at the APD; Will has begun therapy and built new connections. The series frames their strongest growth as happening when they are apart.
