Winners and losers of the weekend's football
We still have a title race in England. Manchester City's hopes looked over after they fell behind to another stunning free-kick from Dominik Szoboszlai at Anfield, but Pep Guardiola's men produced a sensational fightback to defeat Liverpool 2-1 and cut the gap to leaders Arsenal to six points.
Elsewhere PSG routed Marseille to move back above Lens, Barcelona and Real Madrid both won again, Inter demolished Sassuolo 5-0 to stretch their lead in Serie A, and Bayern restored a six-point advantage in the Bundesliga by hammering Hoffenheim. Viktor Gyokeres has begun to look like a turning point signing for Arsenal.
His goal against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final started the change and he has since become an Erling Haaland–style operator with few touches and plenty of goals; no Premier League player has scored more since January 1. Mikel Arteta said Gyokeres is stable, demanding of himself and delivering at a good moment, even if he still faces a battle to nail down a regular starting spot.
