Marvel Studios' Disney+ series Wonder Man, which premiered Jan. 27, 2026, quietly introduces the Grim Reaper as Simon Williams’ brother Eric — not Trevor Slattery — with Eric first appearing in episode 3, "Pacoima," played by Demetrius Grosse. In the comics, Eric Williams debuted in Avengers #52 (by Roy Thomas and John Buscema) as the Grim Reaper, a long-time foe of the Avengers who pushed Simon toward becoming Wonder Man, formed the Lethal Legion, and is known for a scythe-like hand that can absorb and redirect energy, reanimate the dead and fuel other supernatural abilities.

The show’s Eric arrives at a family birthday party and immediately sparred with Simon, taunting his acting career and pressuring him about being fired from American Horror Story; the series does not yet give him the comics’ scythe or clear supernatural powers, though the brotherly rivalry remains intact.

Actor Demetrius Grosse had previously teased that viewers would be "intrigued by the dynamic between Simon Williams and Eric Williams." Wonder Man has been noted for taking a different tone than many MCU projects — focusing on Simon’s attempts to prove himself as an actor — and the series also features Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley) and a few nods to earlier Marvel TV depictions of the Grim Reaper, from a brief WandaVision credit gag to an appearance in The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes voiced by Lance Henriksen.

All episodes of Wonder Man are available to stream on Disney+.
