Wonder Man on Disney+ packed with MCU Easter eggs tying Roxxon, Slattery and Doorman
Wonder Man premiered on Disney+ on January 27, 2026, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams and featuring Ben Kingsley returning as Trevor Slattery. Across its eight-episode run, the series is full of Marvel Cinematic Universe and pop-culture Easter eggs that tie it into franchise history and Los Angeles film lore.
The show leans heavily on Wonder Man’s comic looks: the green jumpsuit reminiscent of West Coast Avengers #12 (Sept. 1986), a black sleeveless rebooted suit from his West Coast Avengers and late‑1990s designs, and a red safari jacket nodding to The Avengers #167 (Jan. 1978). His classic purple palette isn’t shown outright but is hinted at through glowing red eyes and purple energy effects.
Marvel organizations and returning players turn up throughout. The Department of Damage Control is monitoring Simon — Arian Moayed reprises Agent Cleary — and the DODC’s history in the MCU (including confiscating E.D.I.T.H. drones and previous captures) is referenced. A Roxxon logo also appears, with the article noting Roxxon’s long-running ties across MCU titles and calling it a recurring, under-the-radar threat.
Trevor Slattery’s Koreatown apartment contains props from his past MCU appearances (the Mandarin costume, a King Lear poster and a Planet of the Apes poster), and guest spots include Joe Pantoliano playing himself; Pantoliano previously appeared in the broader Marvel universe as Ben Urich in 2003’s Daredevil.
