Clues within the eight-episode run place most of it in 2026: in episode 2 Trevor Slattery says he has been sober for "13 years," tying back to 2013 and Iron Man 3, and Simon Williams references Sam Wilson's public Captain America, which the outlet notes happened in 2024. Visual and dialogue details create some discrepancies — a screening at the Highland Theater (which closed in February 2024 in the real world) and a vague "ten years ago" remark that could suggest 2023 — but the series otherwise lines up with other 2026 entries such as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
