Wrexham predicted to have £3m January transfer budget
Goal reports that Professor Rob Wilson, Director of Executive Education at University Campus of Football Business in London, says Wrexham are expected to have a £3 million transfer budget in the January window as the club pursues a fourth successive promotion.
Wrexham are ninth in the Championship, one point off the top six, after a summer in which owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac funded 13 arrivals at Stok Cae Ras, including Nathan Broadhead from Ipswich Town in a deal reported to be worth as much as £10 million. Wilson told OLBG: "Wrexham can spend up to £3 million in the January transfer window without breaching PSR regulations," and added that the club could still add a new face or two if Phil Parkinson wishes.
The club must abide by profit and sustainability rules and can create more headroom by selling players should interest emerge from rivals. Wrexham face Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup this weekend, then return to Championship action against Norwich City as they aim to stay in touch with the top six.
