Wrexham squander lead as Bristol City snatch late draw — Goal

Wrexham were held to a 2-2 draw by Bristol City, despite leading twice on the road, and Phil Parkinson's side go level on points with sixth-placed Derby. Bristol City dominated early, but Wrexham struck first when Oliver Rathbone met a deflected Callum Doyle cross, turning the ball on the half-turn into the top corner to beat Radek Vitek for his sixth goal of the campaign.

Three minutes into the second half substitute Sinclair Armstrong levelled from a tight angle. Wrexham then reclaimed the lead after another dangerous Doyle cross ricocheted around the box and was turned in by Joe Williams, with the hosts protesting an offside in the build-up.

George Dobson had a big chance inside the final 15 minutes but scuffed his effort. In the dying stages Max Bird produced a first-time strike off the underside of the bar to make it 2-2. Wrexham had a penalty appeal denied when Delano Burgzorg was booked for diving, and Dobson missed another late opportunity.
