Emerald Fennell, the screenwriter and director of “Wuthering Heights,” narrates a sequence from her film featuring Margot Robbie, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver and Hong Chau. "Wait till you see your dresses, Cathy." The scene is a tour of Thrushcross Grange, Cathy’s marital home.

Edgar Linton and his ward, Isabella — Shazad Latif and Alison Oliver — show Cathy Linton, played by Margot Robbie, around; the sequence is shot in a single take by camera operator Ossie McLean. The hallways in Thrushcross Grange are painted an arterial blood red: "I said it should be the most beautiful color in the world.

The color of my wife’s sweet face. Here, look the freckle from your cheek." Thrushcross Grange is meant to be at once beguiling and grotesque. Fennell describes talking to production designer Suzie Davies about creating an uncanny, subconscious feeling; the walls were made from padded panels with photographs of Margot’s actual skin and veins printed onto fabric and overlaid with thin latex.
