Yakuza Kiwami 3 includes official emulations of two obscure Sega arcade games
Pcgamer reports that Yakuza 3 Kiwami includes in-game emulation of two late‑1990s Sega arcade cabinets, Magical Truck Adventure (1998) and Emergency Call Ambulance (1999), neither of which had been re-released or made digitally available until now.
Magical Truck Adventure is described as a short, bright and bubbly arcade title in which you control one of two kids operating an old-fashioned train handcar to chase crooks who stole a magical jewel; the game has a few branching paths and its original lever-based control gimmick is noted as difficult to replicate, though the emulated version removes the physical strain of the cabinet.
Emergency Call Ambulance is an on-rails driving game in which you race an ambulance to the hospital with a grievously wounded patient, avoiding collisions and tight turns; in the first level another ambulance passes and then careens off the road into the sea. If the passenger’s health ticks down to zero the screen fades to black as they whimper "I don't want to die!", a green heart monitor flatlines for about one second, then jolly music plays as the game tallies your score.
The emulated games are presented as fitting counterpoints to Yakuza's shifts between melodrama and absurd side stories; the piece says they are unlikely to justify buying the game on their own but are welcome rescues from arcade obscurity. Kiwami 3 is out on Steam on February 11.
