Movieweb reports CBS' upcoming Yellowstone spin-off, long known as Y: Marshals, will drop the "Y" and be retitled Marshals ahead of its March 1 release.

The series centers on Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) and brings back Yellowstone cast members Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater), Mo Brings Plenty (Mo) and Brecken Merrill (Tate), alongside newcomers Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means and Logan Marshall‑Green. The short synopsis reads, “Former U.S. Navy SEAL and rancher Kayce Dutton joins a specialized group of U.S. Marshals charged with protecting Montana.” The show has used the Y: Marshals name since it was announced in May 2025, and the symbol will still appear on posters and within the series even though it will not be part of the official title.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, the "Y" was always a working title rather than a permanent name. The report also notes Taylor Sheridan is not expected to have much input in Marshals as his contract at Paramount comes to an end, and other franchise projects such as Dutton Ranch, The Madison and prequels like 1923 remain listed as in development.
