Yoshi Eats Kamek in Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer

The latest trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie brings Yoshi’s game powers to life, highlighting his extendable tongue, voracious appetite and the way he turns what he eats into his signature white egg with green polka dots. In one slow‑motion moment he flicks his tongue at a hooded, bespectacled figure, swallows him whole and then blasts him out as an egg.

The pulled‑in character is Kamek, a Magikoopa who serves as Bowser’s advisor and uses magic for evil. In the film Kamek is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson. Yoshi first appeared in the 1990 Super Nintendo game Super Mario World, which reached the U.S. a year later.

Originally a nonverbal steed for Mario, he has since evolved into a popular, playable character across the franchise. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is a sequel to 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie and draws on places and characters from the Super Mario Galaxy games.
