YouTuber stages four-way wizard battle royale that ends almost instantly
YouTuber Deficient Master ran a battle royale that pitted four wizards against each other, each built for a different tabletop RPG system. The goal was simple: score the most points by killing opponents or retrieving chests guarded by goblins. Although the map was designed for varied tactics, only about 8% of it saw action before combat shifted to long-range obliteration from roughly 500 feet.
All characters started at first level, and the hardiness gap showed. Vagabond creator Indestructoboy summoned a giant leech to grab a chest, while PF2e player Nonat1s used a focus spell, Hand of the Apprentice, with a 500-foot range to telepathically hurl his battleaxe at Dungeon Crawl Classics player Bobworldbuilder.
The blow would have killed him outright, but DCC rules at first level mean a character isn't technically dead until an ally or a curious goblin 'rolls them over' for loot, so Bobworldbuilder survived the hit. He then stood in coals, spent stats via spellburn to gain a +33 to his spellcasting, and rolled a 44 on Choking Cloud.
