YouTuber JustGarrison has uncovered a previously inaccessible weapon in Rockstar's 2006 game Bully, unlocking a sledgehammer that had been locked away for more than 20 years while attempting a pacifist run.

The glitch appears during the mission "The Tenements." If a player falls beyond the map limits and is warped back outside, re-entering the tenement can leave the access window unlocked so both Jimmy and boss Norton can go outside. Defeating Norton in that state grants the sledgehammer, which had previously only been usable during the boss fight.

JustGarrison called the find "such a cool thing to find," but said he soon understood why Rockstar kept the weapon hidden: "Immediately just running around with this weapon, I can see why they tried to lock it inside a building, because it looks so violent."

The discovery comes amid Bully's long history of controversy — the game was renamed Canis Canem Edit in the UK after moral panic — and continued uncertainty about the series. Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser has said Bully 2 never happened due to "bandwidth issues," and a fan-made Bully Online multiplayer mod was later shut down.

There seems little chance of an official sequel, but the sledgehammer find shows that players can still unearth hidden content in Rockstar's schoolyard sim.
