Movieweb reports that Zoe Saldana has become the highest-grossing actor of all time, with a personal box-office total of $15.47 billion after Avatar: Fire and Ash added about $1.25 billion to her tally, edging her past Scarlett Johansson’s $15.4 billion.

The figures cited are based on lead roles only. Saldana’s presence in all three of James Cameron’s Avatar films, whose combined box office currently stands at $6.5 billion, helped push her above other Marvel stars; Avengers: Endgame’s $2.79 billion also contributes heavily to many actors’ totals. Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Pratt are listed just behind the top two.

How long Saldana keeps the top spot depends on upcoming franchise releases. James Cameron has two further Avatar films planned for 2029 and 2031, and the report says Avatar: Fire and Ash may struggle to match its predecessors. The outlet adds that Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, expected in December 2026 and 2027, respectively, could alter rankings, and that Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson have multiple projects that might change the leaderboard by January 2028.
