According to Gamesradar, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios and Zootopia 2 co-director Jared Bush said on Twitter that a feather in the sequel's post-credits scene was "borrowed from Moana."

In the scene a single feather falls beside Judy Hopps' carrot-shaped pen, all but confirming that birds exist in the Zootopia universe. Bush said the shadow that passes and the feather were taken from Moana and asked which Moana character cast that shadow, answering "Hawk Maui." Hawk Maui is the giant bird the demigod Maui turns into when his magic hook is repaired at the end of Moana.

The moment has raised questions because birds have never appeared in Zootopia before, and viewers also spotted a post-it on ZPD's WiFi box that reads "P@Rt3izFr&BrdZr2," which, after decoding, seems to read "Part 3 is for real, and birds are too." That has led to suggestions Zootopia 3 may introduce birds, though Bush noted this does not mean the feather actually belongs to Hawk Maui within the Zootopia world or that the character will appear in future films.
