Jack Reacher is a 2012 American action thriller film based on Lee Child's 2005 novel One Shot. The story follows Jack Reacher, a drifter and ex-US Army Military Police Corps investigator and major, who arrives in Pittsburgh after seeing a news broadcast about a shooting. The authorities have a suspect in custody, but the suspect offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher.” Reacher believes the authorities have the right man but agrees to help the sniper's defense attorney played by Rosamund Pike. Throughout the movie, Reacher investigates the case and uncovers a conspiracy involving a wealthy businessman played by Werner Herzog. The movie features several action sequences, including a car chase and a fight scene in a quarry.
