Mullah Mohammed Omer

Mullah Omar, born as Mohammad Omar, was the founder and leader of the Taliban, an fundamentalist group that ruled Afghanistan from 1996 until 2001. He played a significant role in shaping the Taliban's ideology and leading their insurgency against the Afghan government and international forces. Mullah Omar was born in 1960 in the rural province of Kandahar, Afghanistan. He received his education in religious studies and became a respected scholar.
