It is the longest Surah of the Holy Quran, its verses 67 to 73 mention the incident of the cow that was ordered to be slaughtered by the Israelites, therefore the name of this Surah is Surah Al-Baqarah, because Bakrah is cow in Arabic. It is said that, the Surah begins with the description of the basic beliefs of , namely monotheism, prophethood and the Hereafter, in this context, three types of human beings, namely, believers, disbelievers and hypocrites, are described, then Adam (peace be upon him) is described. The event of creation has been described so that man may know the purpose of his birth. After that, in a long series of verses, the main address is to the Jews who lived in large numbers around Madinah. A detailed description of how they acted in ungratefulness and disobedience is mentioned near the end of the first verse of Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him), because he was not only the Jews and Christians, but also the idolaters of Arabia. All of them were reminded that they believed in pure monotheism and never accepted any form of polytheism. After describing its detailed commands at the beginning of the second para, this surah describes many commands related to the individual and collective life of Muslims, including many issues related to worship, society, family affairs and governance. .
