Ertuğrul Gazi

Ertuğrul Gazi, also known as Ertuğrul Bey, was a prominent figure in Turkish history and the father of Osman I, the founder of the Ottoman Empire. He was born around 1191 and passed away in 1281. Ertuğrul Gazi was a warrior and leader of the Kayı tribe, which was part of the larger Oghuz Turkic tribal confederation.
