PRESS NOTE ON BHAROSA - SUPPORT CENTRE MEDCHAL, CYBERABAD
“Bharosa” –Support Center for Women & Children is intended to
support women affected by violence, in private and public spaces, within
the family, community and at the workplace. Women facing physical,
, emotional, psychological and economic abuse, irrespective of age,
class, caste, education status, marital status, race and culture are provided
with all legal, medical, psychological, sociological and financial support at
One-Stop-Bharosa Centre. Aggrieved women facing any kind of violence
due to attempted harassment, assault, domestic violence,
trafficking, honour related crimes, acid attacks or witch-hunting who have
reached out or been referred to the Center are provided with specialized
services by experienced and trained staff.
• Bharosa Support Center of Cyberabad Commissionerate at Medchal
was inaugurated on 27-07-2022. Consists of 1-Psycological Counsellor,
1- Legal support officer 1- ANM, 1- Data Entry operator cum
Accountant, 1- Receptionist, 1- Woman SI as incharge to Bharosa
support center.
• The Support center assist in co-ordination with Judiciary in recording
161 CrPC and 164 CrPC Statement. Till now in 97 POCSO cases 161
CrPC statements were recorded and in 89 cases 164 CrPC Statements
in the Hon’ble Magistrate Court were recorded with the assistance of
Legal Support person.
• Conducted 66- Medical Examinations to victims in assaulted
cases with assistance of ANM
• As the victims undergo mental trauma after the assault in this
regard the counsellor has visited 52 victims house in POCSO Act &
Rape cases for follow up and psychological support
• Conducted 23- Awareness sessions on POCSO Act cases in various
public places like schools, colleges, Bus Stand, Railway Station and
Bharosa support center. Till now total 2160 members have attended
the awareness sessions.
• The Government give financial support to the victims. In this regard
through Bharosa support center 37 victims ( assaulted ) have
got compensation for an amount of Rs. 9, 40,000/- through District
Collector Medchal District.
• The Bharosa Support Center assist the victims also by giving Rs.
10,000/- each for their medical and other expenditure in this regard
