Eagles_-_ Hotel California
"Hotel California" is a song by the band Eagles from the album of the same name, released in 1976. The song was composed by Don Felder, Don Henley and Glenn Frey, featuring drummer Don Henley on vocals and contains a guitar duo at the end of song with Don Felder and Joe Walsh.
This song topped the Billboard chart on May 7, 1977, becoming the Eagles' signature song.
The song is also noted for its eerie lyrics. The lyrics have been interpreted in a variety of ways, some of them controversial. During an appearance on 60 Minutes (November 25, 2007), Henley debunked the rumor that the song had some connection to Satanism. In it, Henley says that "it's basically a song about the dark side of the American dream, and about excess in America, which is something I knew a lot about." In an interview with Gear Factory, on the Loudwire YouTube channel, Don Felder recalled the composition of the song. тАЬI made a tape of 15 or 16 ideas, one of which was the 'Hotel California' demo recorded in my bedroom with a 12-string guitar, bass and drum machine, trying to simulate a guitar part between Joe and me. The whole concept came from that demo.тАЭ
Other musicians also recorded it, such as the Brazilian Emerson Nogueira and the Gipsy Kings group.
