Quran_ 7. Surat A-Ar_af (The Heights)_ Arabic and English translation
Surah Al-Araf, also known as "The Heights" in English, is the 7th surah of the Quran. This surah consists of 206 verses and was revealed in Mecca. The name "Al-Araf" comes from a reference to the heights between Heaven and Hell.
The surah discusses various themes relevant to human life, such as the creation of humans, the commands and prohibitions of Allah, the punishment for wrongdoing, and the stories of past nations. It also warns against following practices of polytheism and reminds humans to follow Allah's guidance to attain blessings and a good life in this world and the hereafter.
Surah Al-Araf also criticizes past nations who turned away from Allah's teachings and warnings, describing the destruction that befell them as a result of their transgressions. Among the nations mentioned in this surah are the people of Noah, the people of 'Ad, the people of Thamud, and the people of Lot.
Additionally, the surah describes Allah's justice and mercy, as well as the importance of faith in Allah and following His commandments. It reminds us that life is a test and we should appreciate Allah's blessings and worship only Him.
Surah Al-Araf offers wisdom and guidance for humanity, encouraging introspection and reflection on Allah's unity and greatness.
