The year is 1957, and it is summer. Behind the glamour of Formula One, ex-racer Enzo Ferrari is in distress. Bankruptcy threatens the factory he and his wife, Laura, started from scratch ten years ago. Their tumultuous marriage has been strained by the death of their son, Dino, a year ago. With Lina Lardi, Ferrari struggles to acknowledge his son Piero. Meanwhile, his drivers' desire to win drives them to the limit as they embark on the perilous 1,000-mile race across Italy known as the Mille Miglia.
