Chinese takeaway: Anhui entrepreneur’s mobile trailer restaurant brings meals on wheels
Tu Shiqun from Anhui province has a mobile dining experience unlike any other. While some businesses bring the catering to your venue, he brings the whole restaurant - a giant folding contraption on the back of a truck - as seen in footage filmed on Saturday. "I came up with the idea 20 years ago. At that time, I started the mobile restaurant business and did not have this huge mobile trailer restaurant," he explained. Footage shows the trailer’s side flaps opening to create a large dining area, with walls fixed into place and the base stabilised with metal poles and hydraulics. A table is seen being arranged, and food prepared. "I have always dreamed of a good dining environment for my customers," he explained. "Two years ago, I found a manufacturer that can customise this kind of restaurant, and then I immediately went to Inner Mongolia to order it." The set-up reportedly cost around 1,000,000 Yuan (134,681 euros), although the enterprising businessman says it will pay for itself. With space for hundreds of people, it looks set to be a hit with all kinds of celebrations - and can, quite literally, bring restaurant dining to your door.
