The ship debuted in December 2019, as the Italian cruise line's largest ship to date. Costa Smeralda is also the first ship to use LNG power at sea and in port. Costa Smeralda has 2,612 cabins, 1,550 balcony cabins, which can carry 6,554 passengers and 1,678 crew members. Facilities consist of 11 restaurants and snack bars, 19 bars and lounges, 13 swimming pools and tubs, a water park, Solemio beauty spa, and Squok club for children aged 3-11 years.
