Indonesian archery athlete Diananda Choirunisa stopped in her tracks in the quarter-finals of the women's individual recurve event at the 2023 Asian Games. The 26 year old archer had to acknowledge the toughness of 3 Tokyo Olympic gold winners from South Korea, An San. The athlete from Surabaya lost 7-3 in a tight battle against the Olympic record holder. Diananda was able to force the score to be equal in 3 sets (28-28, 27-27, 28-28), even though she had to give up the remaining 2 sets with a narrow defeat (28-30, 28-29).
