Israeli military prepare as war cabinet considers ground offensive in Gaza

The Israeli military has said no decision has been made yet on any ground incursion into Gaza but that they are preparing for it. Hundreds of thousands of troops have massed near the Gaza border and are preparing for the order to move in. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has established a national emergency unity government alongside opposition leader Benny Gantz who said it was "a time for war". Part of the calculations being made by the new Israeli war cabinet must be the fate of the hostages taken by Hamas into Gaza.
