Surah Al-Kafirun (Arabic: سورة الكافرون) is the 109th surah of the Quran. It consists of 6 verses and is named after the word "Al-Kafirun," which means "The Disbelievers" in English. This surah was revealed in Makkah. Translation in English: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say, "O disbelievers, I do not worship what you worship. Nor are you worshipping what I worship. Nor will I be a worshipper of what you worship. Nor will you be worshippers of what I worship. For you is your religion, and for me is my religion." Surah Al-Kafirun emphasizes the concept of religious tolerance and the clear distinction between believers and disbelievers. It was revealed in response to the polytheists of Makkah who insisted on the continuation of their own beliefs, while Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) remained steadfast in his monotheistic faith. The surah rejects the idea of worshiping multiple gods and emphasizes the commitment of Muslims to worship only Allah. It promotes the idea that everyone has the freedom to follow their own religion and beliefs. It teaches Muslims to peacefully coexist with those who hold different beliefs, without compromising their own faith. Overall, Surah Al-Kafirun serves as a reminder of the importance of religious tolerance, respect, and the firm commitment to the worship of only Allah. It encourages Muslims to peacefully convey their beliefs while respecting the beliefs of others.
