War in Ukraine: What it’s like defending Avdiivka against Russian attacks

Russia has been attempting to encircle the eastern Ukraine town of Avdiivka and has been repeatedly attacking it for over a month. The town retains its reputation as a stronghold just beyond occupied Donetsk, but some fear it will soon follow the same fate as Bakhmut, which has been almost completely destroyed. Jack Losh has spoken to some locals to see how they’re doing and to find out what winter could bring for the Ukrainian Eastern flank.
