Sape Dayak
Traditional instruments from Indonesian Kalimantan
The Sapeh (Sampek, Sampeh, Sape) is a traditional musical instrument of some Ulu or "upstream," who live in long homes along the east Kalimantan, north Kalimantan, west Kalimantan and Sarawak rivers.
This traditional instrument was played as guitar, and it was often used in tribal Dayak events.
The Sape is made of thick Adau wood found in Borneo.
The characteristic feature of this traditional instrument is that it features a typical Dayak sculpture.
