Israel’s Defence Forces (IDF) prepared for a potential attack months before the October 7 onslaught by Hamas, as per a report. Anticipating an attack from Hezbollah in the north, the IDF sent its elite units in September to train for a possible incursion into Galilee. The IDF opted to train for a potential attack following increased Hezbollah presence near the Lebanon border, Ynet reported. In the period leading up to the Hamas attack, Hezbollah established 30 military posts and observation towers.
