Liu Kang, a young Chinese martial arts expert, learns that his younger brother has been killed in a battle with the sorcerer Shang Tsung. The sorcerer has promised his master Shao Kahn, the Emperor of the Otherworld, absolute control of the Earth, so that evil and desolation can settle there for eternity.
