Putin REJECTS talks with US – Russia IS NOT ready for negotiations

Moscow is not ready to negotiate with Washington on the conditions put forward by Joe Biden, one of which is the “withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.” At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin remains open to contacts with the Americans. This was announced by the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Friday. The press secretary of the Russian President recalled Biden's comments made a day earlier that negotiations are possible "only after Putin leaves Ukraine.” Peskov stressed: “Biden said that first, Putin should leave Ukraine. He believes that this should be a demonstration that Putin is ready for negotiations. And it changes the essence. The United States still does not recognize new territories within Russia, and this significantly complicates the search for grounds for mutual discussion". The “new territories” that Peskov referred to are the four Ukrainian regions that Russian annexed back in September following sham elections held in that area. Peskov went on to say that, Putin has always been and remains open to negotiations in order to ensure our interests. The Spokesman added: "Of course, the most preferred way to achieve our interests is through peaceful, diplomatic means".
