John Woo, a Hong Kong filmmaker, made his American debut with the action movie Hard Target in 1993. A young woman called Natasha Binder (Yancy Butler) is saved from a group of criminals in New Orleans by Chance Boudreaux (Jean-Claude Van Damme), an unemployed, homeless Cajun merchant sailor and former United States Force Recon Marine.
