China, officially the People's Republic of China (PRC), is a country in East Asia. With a population exceeding 1.4 billion, it is the second most populous country in the world. In 221 BC, China was unified under an emperor for the first time, marking more than two millennia of China being ruled by one or more imperial dynasties, including the Han, Tang, Yuan, Ming, and Qing.
