A walk around Yaroslavl
Yaroslavl became the first Christian city on the Volga, the date of foundation is considered to be 1010. According to legend, Prince Yaroslav Vladimirovich, traveling around the possessions, met a pagan tribe on the site of modern Strelka. Hostile strangers set a bear on Yaroslav, whom he defeated with his spear. Only then did they express their submission to the prince, and he ordered the establishment of a city with a fortress in this place. An interesting fact is that Yaroslavl has never changed its name since its foundation.
