Why US’ Patriot Missiles May Not Be Effective In Countering Russian Air Assault On Ukraine
The US is reportedly finalising plans to send Patriot missile batteries to Kyiv to help it defend against Russian strikes. Ukraine has faced increasing attacks from Russian drones and cruise missiles, which have crippled its civic infrastructure. The MIM-104 Patriot is the US Army’s premier long-range air-defence system, which was also deployed in the 1991 Gulf War. However, reports say the Patriots may not be effective for the Ukrainian forces in the current scenario.
