A Russian military commissar said in a video that conscripts called up in the spring will serve for 1 and a half years and those called up in the fall of 2023 will serve for two years. Russia reduced the conscript service to one year in Putin’s 2nd term. He subsequently said this video was actually made two years ago but he mentions “northern neighbors” joining NATO and mobilization in the video which obviously weren’t the case two years ago. Sounds as though he announced this before he was supposed to.
