Even with big coal beds, it’s hard to get them even near capacity. — So Kress, also the maker of fire dozers and slag-handling equipment, came up with a niche solution called the Coal Hauler. — With its 2,000 HP engine, it can haul 240 tons or 300 CY (220 tonne / 228 m^3) of coal at over 40 MPH (64 KPH). — To help with maneuvering in cuts, it offers an 85-degree steering angle, meaning it can turn its front wheels almost entirely to the right or left. — Loaders typically load it from the top; then its belly opens to dump over feeders at the plant. — These trucks are as close as you’ll get to Star Wars on Earth
