Tobolsk is the pearl of Siberia

The city is a museum of monuments of stone and wooden architecture. The most famous complex is the stone Kremlin of the XVII century. It is the only one in Siberia. The history of the city began in 1587 with a wooden prison, which was founded by Cossacks. Before Catherine's reforms, Tobolsk was the main city of the vast Siberian province.
