How Ukraine War Left Russia's 200th Motorized Rifle Brigade A Shadow Of Its Reputation & Manpower
An elite Russian military brigade reportedly suffered so many losses in Ukraine that it was essentially "wiped out". Citing Ukrainian and Western officials, the Washington Post says the 200th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade is expected to take years to rebuild. Shortly after the invasion, units belonging to the 200th were attacked and ambushed resulting in fatalities among numerous soldiers. By late May, fewer than 900 soldiers were left in two battalion tactical groups, as per documents obtained by the Post.
